1949 in America was a year of defining changes and shifting dynamics. “Red Scare”, Post-war adjustments after WWII, early TV, and Truman’s “Fair Deal”. 1949, Americans where still hard workers and still freshly trained in several levels thanks to the war. This was shown in the release of the new line of vehicles influenced by the war’s technological advancements. Aerodynamic shapes, Chrome accents, and jet designs of the era were all the rage. Miss Maggie Jo is a surviving and original example of a “Advanced Design” that has been most important, an all-around friend of the family. Maybe that is why you see images of her styling and red paint, on so many Christmas cards and paper!
