In 1938, the United States was still grappling with the lingering effects of the Great Depression and facing growing international tensions that would soon lead to World War II. The country experienced a significant economic downturn, known as the recession of 1937-38. Unemployment was still high, and Nazi Germany was up to no good. Automotive sales also suffered, and many companies went out of business. Yet, American’s have always looked for the finer things in life, and Buick answered. This 1938 Buick Century with it’s demanding “Look at me, I have arrived!” body lines gave its new owner the feeling of security and style even during the bad times in our history. Bonnie Mae has been the sparkle of her family’s eye in her hometown state of Massachusetts until her arrival here in Kansas. Her 85 plus-year history shows her devotion to assure safe travels to all who open her welcoming doors and enter knowing an exciting time awaits!
